The Marakele Safari wildlife experience is raw, real, and unforgettable. Guided by expert rangers, every game drive brings you face-to-face with Africa’s most iconic animals against the dramatic backdrop of the Waterberg Mountains.
From my very first drive, the richness of biodiversity was overwhelming—white rhinos grazing quietly, wildebeest charging across the plains, and impalas mid-rut in a flurry of energy. But the most unforgettable moment came when a bull elephant approached our vehicle. The ranger, Hein, cut the engine and calmly spoke until the giant wandered off. It was an intense yet deeply moving encounter that defines Marakele.

Boat Safari – Sundowners on Ms. Mara
One of Marakele’s unique highlights is the boat safari on the Ms. Mara. Floating on a quiet dam as the sun set, we watched the Kransberg Mountains glow in shades of pink and gold. With a cocktail in hand, the water mirrored the sky, and hippos surfaced nearby. It’s a more tranquil but equally immersive way to experience the park’s wildlife.
