About Oloi Shorua
Oloi Shorua designs private African safaris for travellers who value considered, founder-led planning over the standardised packages that most of the industry produces. We are based in Dubai with direct, long-standing relationships across Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Additionally, we maintain active field presence in East Africa — because we developed this knowledge over years of working in these landscapes rather than studying them from a distance.
The Name
Oloi Shorua is a name rooted in Ma’a and Maasai culture. It carries the idea of taking from the universe and giving to the people. As a result, the name reflects how we understand this work — not as commercial transaction but as knowledge translated into experience for the people who travel with us.
How We Design Private African Safaris
Every journey begins with a conversation. We do not work from fixed itineraries or pre-set packages. Instead, each safari develops from a direct conversation about the specific traveller — their pace, their landscape preferences and the quality of experience they want. From there, we shape the geography, season, properties and guiding approach around what is actually relevant.
The result is a journey that reflects the landscape rather than imposing a template on it. We work with a limited number of journeys at any time. This is intentional — it keeps the work attentive and maintains the quality of our lodge and guiding relationships. Furthermore, it ensures that every client receives the same level of direct, founder-involved planning.
Where We Operate
Our primary work covers East Africa and Southern Africa. In East Africa, Kenya and Tanzania form the foundation, with Uganda and Rwanda extending into mountain gorilla and primate trekking territory. Southern Africa spans Botswana, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe — each country offering a structurally different wildlife and landscape experience.
Our Dubai base reflects the primary client geography — the GCC and the wider international community across the Gulf. Meanwhile, field presence in East Africa ensures that our knowledge of lodges, guides and landscapes stays current and personal. We do not recommend from a distance. Our Arabia platform operates separately under the name Arabia by Oloi Shorua. It designs journeys across the Arabian Peninsula for travellers who travel both Africa and the Arab world.

Oloi Shorua is founder-led. Every journey involves the founder in design and planning directly, rather than a sales team working from a brochure. That directness is not a marketing claim.
