Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge
Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge is one of the oldest safari lodges in Tsavo West National Park and occupies a superb location overlooking a natural waterhole with distant views toward Mount Kilimanjaro.
Built from local volcanic stone, the lodge blends naturally into the surrounding landscape while offering wide views across the plains of Tsavo. Because animals frequently visit the waterhole in front of the lodge, wildlife sightings often begin without leaving the property.
For many travellers, Kilaguni represents one of the classic safari lodges of Kenya, combining historic atmosphere with comfortable accommodation.

Landscape & Setting
Tsavo West is defined by volcanic hills, open savannah and distant mountain views.
Kilaguni sits within this dramatic landscape where lava flows, acacia woodland and open plains meet beneath the Chyulu Hills. Meanwhile, the nearby waterhole attracts wildlife throughout the day, creating a constantly changing scene visible from the lodge terraces.
On clear mornings the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro sometimes appears above the southern horizon, adding to the spectacular setting.

Accommodation
Accommodation at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge consists of comfortable rooms constructed from local stone and positioned to overlook the surrounding plains.
Features include:
- Rooms with views across the waterhole or savannah
- Private balconies or terraces
- Ensuite bathrooms with modern amenities
- Classic safari lodge interiors
The architecture reflects traditional safari lodge design while maintaining a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

Safari Experience / Activities
