Location & Landscape

Governors’ Mugie House lies within the 50,000-acre Mugie Conservancy, situated in northern Laikipia between the Matthews Range and Mount Kenya.

The landscape is defined by rolling savannah plains, scattered acacia woodland, and seasonal river valleys that support a wide diversity of wildlife. From the lodge terraces guests enjoy expansive views across the conservancy and surrounding wilderness.

Because Mugie operates as a private wildlife conservancy, safari activities take place with very few vehicles and excellent guiding flexibility.
