Loisaba Tented Camp
Loisaba Tented Camp is one of the most spectacularly positioned luxury safari lodges in northern Kenya. Set high on the edge of the Laikipia Plateau, the camp enjoys sweeping views across the dramatic valleys and open plains of the Loisaba Conservancy.
The lodge combines elegant tented accommodation with a wide range of safari experiences in one of Kenya’s most progressive conservation landscapes. Wildlife conservation, community partnerships, and sustainable tourism are central to the ethos of Loisaba.
For travellers seeking a luxury safari that combines beautiful scenery, diverse wildlife, and unique safari activities, Loisaba Tented Camp offers one of the most memorable safari experiences in Laikipia.

Location & Landscape
Loisaba Tented Camp sits within the 57,000-acre Loisaba Conservancy, located on the Laikipia Plateau north of Mount Kenya.
The landscape here is dramatic and varied. Open savannah plains transition into rocky escarpments and river valleys that stretch toward Kenya’s northern frontier. From the lodge terraces guests enjoy expansive views that extend across the conservancy toward the distant Mathews Range.
Because the lodge operates within a private conservancy, safari activities can be conducted with considerable flexibility and visitor numbers remain limited.

Accommodation & Design
The camp features a collection of beautifully designed luxury tents positioned along the escarpment overlooking the valley below.
Each tent combines the romance of traditional safari style with contemporary comfort.
Accommodation features include:
• Spacious tented suites with large private decks
• Floor-to-ceiling views across the valley
• Elegant safari-style interiors
• En-suite bathrooms with indoor showers
• Family units for private groups
The design allows guests to enjoy extraordinary views and privacy while remaining immersed in the surrounding wilderness.

Safari Experience
Safaris at Loisaba are exceptionally varied thanks to the flexibility offered by the conservancy.
Experiences may include:
• Game drives across the conservancy
• Guided walking safaris
• Night game drives
• Horseback safaris
• Camel safaris
• Visits to local Samburu communities
One of the most memorable experiences at Loisaba is spending a night in the famous Loisaba Star Beds, open-air platforms where guests sleep beneath the vast African night sky.
Because the conservancy is privately managed, safari vehicles often explore the landscape with very few other visitors.
Wildlife
Loisaba Conservancy supports a rich wildlife population typical of the Laikipia ecosystem.
Animals frequently seen include:
• Elephant
• Lion and leopard
• Wild dog
• Reticulated giraffe
• Grevy’s zebra
• Buffalo and plains game
The conservancy also forms part of an important wildlife corridor linking Laikipia with Kenya’s northern ecosystems.
When to Visit
Loisaba Tented Camp offers excellent safari conditions throughout the year.
June – October
Dry season with excellent wildlife viewing.
December – March
Clear skies and warm temperatures.
April – May / November
Green landscapes with fewer visitors.
Because wildlife in Laikipia is largely resident, rewarding game viewing is possible in all seasons.
