The Setting
Legendary Lodge sits within a working coffee estate on the outskirts of Arusha, Tanzania’s northern safari capital. The estate’s original farmhouse, more than a century old, forms the heart of the lodge, its history carried through in curated antiques rather than a rebuilt or themed interior. Twelve garden cottages — including two family cottages — are scattered through tropical grounds shaded by mature trees, with Mount Meru visible on clear days.
The lodge’s role is transitional rather than destination-driven: a settled night either side of a longer safari itinerary, close enough to Arusha to feel connected, tucked away enough to feel properly removed from it. A guided walk through the neighbouring coffee estate — from picking to roasting to the cup — is offered on-site.
Access
Arusha Airport is roughly 15 minutes away, with transfers included. Kilimanjaro International Airport is around 90 minutes by road. A helipad is available by prior arrangement for parties arriving or departing by air charter.
Planning a Stay
One night is generally sufficient, either on arrival to rest before heading into the bush, or before departure to unwind after a longer safari. Legendary Lodge pairs naturally with any itinerary through the northern circuit — the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Lake Manyara.
