Asanja Siri Bustani is the smaller sister camp to Asanja Moru. It sits within secluded woodland in the Serengeti’s western corridor, a short distance from the Grumeti River. With just three guest tents, accommodating a maximum of six adults and three children, this ranks among the most intimate properties operating in the western Serengeti.
Location and Landscape
The camp sits close to the Grumeti River, part of the migration’s western route. Elephant, buffalo, hippo and the reclusive bushbuck and bushpig all favour the area’s dense riverine forest. The western corridor, in addition, carries noticeably lower visitor density than the Seronera or northern Serengeti. As a result, game drives here take on a quieter, more exclusive character.
Accommodation
Each tent is a variation on the Meru style, built with three layers of canvas for additional shade and privacy. Every tent sits mounted on a wooden deck with a private veranda, set with a small dining table and campaign chairs. Interiors include a four-poster bed or twin configuration, a writing desk, and en-suite facilities with a flush toilet, washbasin and outside shower. The fully open-sided communal lounge and dining tent looks directly over the surrounding plains, with a fire pit positioned for sundowner views.
Safari Experience
Vehicle safaris explore the wider Grumeti area, with guides providing detailed species information throughout each drive. The camp’s small scale, in addition, means activities and meal arrangements are easily tailored to individual groups. This includes private dinners set up within the surrounding gardens on request.
When to Visit
The western corridor sees migration activity at points in the annual cycle, as herds move between the central Serengeti and the Mara River system further north. Resident wildlife sustains good game viewing throughout the rest of the year, however, with notably fewer other camps and vehicles sharing the same stretch of bush.

A road transfer from the Grumeti airstrip reaches Asanja Siri Bustani, roughly 20 kilometres from camp.

Asanja Siri Bustani pairs naturally with its sister camp, Asanja Moru, in the Moru Kopjes to the south. It also suits a stay further north in the Serengeti, for travellers wanting broader seasonal coverage. Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire, similarly, both extend into a wider northern Tanzania circuit.
