Walking the Mara with Kicheche
A private walking safari through two of Kicheche’s own Mara camps, with a night spent under canvas in the bush between them — the Mara on foot, not from a vehicle.
Kicheche Valley Camp, Narok County
The journey begins at Kicheche Valley Camp, in the Mara conservancies of Narok County — the starting point for the walk itself, with an experienced walking guide and armed ranger accompanying the route.
Overnight Fly-Camp, Western Naboisho Conservancy
A genuine walk of three to four hours from Kicheche Valley leads into the western Naboisho Conservancy, where a fly-camp is set up for a single night under canvas — the most direct way to experience the Mara’s terrain and its sounds at close range, well away from vehicle tracks.
Kicheche Bush Camp, Narok County
The journey closes at Kicheche Bush Camp in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy — a return to a fixed camp and vehicle-based game drives after the walking sections, with the lower vehicle density typical of the Mara’s private conservancies.
